Barber Apprenticeship Program
Course Objective
The Barber Apprenticeship Program combines classroom instruction with supervised on-the-job training, allowing students to develop their technical skills while working alongside an approved barber mentor in a licensed barber shop.
Students receive foundational classroom education before transitioning into an apprenticeship environment where they gain practical experience under the supervision of an approved mentor.
Program Structure

750 Clock Hours of classroom instruction at Barber Concierge Academy.

Successful completion of the required theory curriculum.

Eligibility to sit for the Tennessee Theory Examination.

Placement with an approved Tennessee barber mentor.

1,500 Apprenticeship Hours completed under the supervision of an approved mentor in a licensed barber shop.

Requirements
Applicants must:

Meet Tennessee Board admission requirements.

Be at least 16 years of age.

Be beyond the compulsory school attendance age.

Complete the Barber Concierge Academy admissions process.

Present valid government-issued identification.

Non-U.S. citizens must provide valid documentation authorizing them to study in the United States.
A high school diploma or GED is not required for enrollment under current Tennessee law.

Our areas of emphasis include how to teach theory, evaluating student performance and examinations, preparing students to pass the barber state board examination, and much more.
